Friday night Martin and I just about finished cleaning the house top to bottom in preparation of Graisi's luncheon Saturday. I must say I out did myself on the spaghetti sauce :o) It was good and I look forward to eating it for the next few days. Seriously. I really think I could eat it everyday. However, "Note to Self" ... don't plan a birthday party in the middle of Alli Claire's nap time. She had all of about a 30 minute nap Saturday. However, she was ready for bed that night... Graisi enjoyed having part of her family there. We missed Janet and her family and Bev. But things come up that can't be helped and we'll see them Saturday for her ice-skating competition.
While I finished preparing lunch, the men of the group were busy assembling a 14 foot trampoline in our back yard. In my head, 14 feet wasn't as large as what I saw when I peered out the back window. IT'S MASSIVE! Especially, with the enclosure on it. But Graisi and Mallory have had a great time on it all weekend. I've already heard lots of games being played on it. Graisi also got roller blades from her Mamaw Nancy and Papaw Harold. If she wasn't jumping, she was skating. After everyone went home Graisi and I and Mallory went and rented two movies to stay up late and watch. We drug out the sleeping bags and pillows and vegged out in the livingroom floor. Martin also popped popcorn for them to munch on during the movies.
Mallory made it through most of the second movie but didn't make it all the way through. Graisi on the other hand is quiet the little night owl. But of course, if there is a tv on, she's gonna watch it. We made it to bed around midnight and didn't make it to church yesterday.
Martin on the other hand gave me a huge guilt trip on not going to church so he got up and went. After I heard what our Sunday School lesson was on, I'm really sorry I missed it. It was the last lesson on our marriage series and it was on the Song of Solomon - Intimacy. How could I have missed that!!!??
Most of my yesterday was filled with sewing projects :o) Remember the jeans Martin split last Monday bowling? Well... now Alli Claire has a new pair of jeans! The legs of Martin's jeans had enough fabric to make a miniature pair for her. She wore them to school today. I also have to give BIG PROPS out to Mamaw Nancy for figuring out the reversible dress I've been trying to figure out for a week now. It's finished, but the toile pattern is upside down. Oh who cares? She can wear it to school and it will be fine. I'm just proud I got it made and it looks great except for that little mishap. I got Graisi and Alli Claire matching pillow case dresses made and got several more pieces cut out ready to be completed. This weekend was full and very productive. Not to mention, I squeezed in a baby shower yesterday afternoon and Martin and I watched a DVD last night!
I regress... remember when the girls and I went and rented a movie Saturday night? The guy asked me for my phone number and then asked if the account was in someone else's name. When I told him "yes" he asked for my ID. I thought it was a little odd and asked him how long it had been since we'd rented movies. He stood there for a minute looking like he was doing math in his head. Then he stopped and said, "20 months". At which time I informed him that we have 19 month old daughter. We both got a little chuckle out of it. Does this tell you anything??
