We bought our 2003 Tahoe in 2004. It has been downhill since. We've had one problem after another with the thing. Between the instrument panel that they know is defective but won't fix it because I drive more than 10K miles a year, or the fuel pump, the windshield wipers that won't turn off (so I pulled the fuse on them and pray it doesn't rain), the back door and hatch locks that work haphazardly or don't work at all or the engine reducing power on you spontaneously as you drive down the road and can't go over 35 miles per hour. I AM SICK OF IT I TELL YOU!! I just got off the phone with the THIRD person at GM/Chevrolet. And I am FIRED UP! They KNOW the instrument panel is defective and we even got a letter on it, but they refuse to pay to have it fixed because I'm over 70K miles. However, I'm well within the 7 year time period. You tell me... besides the little old lady that only goes to the grocery store and church once a week, WHO puts 10k miles or less a year on a vehicle????? ONCE the Tahoe is fixed and it's outlived it's use, I will NEVER buy another American made vehicle. They're not made well and the "American" company will not stand behind their products.
Martin's Geo Storm was 14 when the clutch finally went out. Granted it was made in America, but with Japanese parts from Toyota. My Nissan Maxima is 12 now and still is great shape. The Tahoe is 4 years old and we've already had more problems with it than with the other two foreign cars in 26 years combined. But you can come to your own conclusions.
I, for one, will never own another one.
