Foaming Cat
Have you ever seen a cat foam at the mouth? Well, I have. Last night we were giving Lucy Jane a dose of Alli Claire's leftover antibiotics to help heal her foot. Needless to say it didn't go well. I know...I know. We probably shouldn't have done it, but y'all... it's a cat. One less cat in the world isn't all that bad, right?? We have a joke in the house now about antibiotics and cats. Right before we gave it to her for the first time, I questioned if it would hurt her. Martin said if it did, and he came home and Heidi was dead, he would know that I had given her have her some leftover antibiotics too. LOL! We can dream can't we?? I digress, back to the story. So after we gave Lucy this last dose and before it went down, foam started coming out of her mouth and she started making this weird noise. I just knew she was a goner and I would have to find a replacement quickly before Graisi woke up this morning. After a few minutes of this and slobber all over the floor, Martin took a cloth and cleaned out her mouth to remove the rest of the residue. She was still alive when I left the house this morning. So I didn't have to lie to Graisi about why Lucy Jane turned yellow and got really fluffy overnight :o) You know I replaced her first fish, Seaweed, at least once before we let him die. She knows this now, but I just recently told her about it. She thought it was a little funny. But just a little. There was a slight hint of hostility to begin with.
