Well... we elected not to take a trip to Auburn because we just weren't sure about the weather. So, instead, I took a trip to Lowes and spent the "Auburn" money on new flower bed flowers and new faucets for the bathrooms! Martin wasn't happy with me when he spent a couple of hours installing the first faucet in our bathroom. See, I didn't tell him I was going to buy new faucets when I went. Actually, I didn't know I was going to buy faucets either. But I did and then they needed installing :o) But to my defense, I started putting it in myself and then couldn't figure out how to get the darn thing out. That's where Martin took over. I didn't ask him to, he just did. While he finished up getting the thing screwed back together, I jumped in the shower for an impromptu social with some friends of ours. But I will say, my new faucet looks divine!
I swear there isn't anything better than getting together with friends you love. I mean nothing!! We laugh, we cry and we eat. It just don't get any better. There were smashed fingers, spilled drinks and slapped children. Crying and squealing are mandatory. Then all of a sudden the men disappeared downstairs to the man-cave and didn't come out until it was time to go. Hey, Guys... next time it's our turn! Thank you Jaime and Chad for opening your (clean) house for us to gather!!
After church yesterday we drove to Northport for a baby shower for some long-time friends Kim and James W. They've been praying for a baby for at least 10 years and in just a few more weeks baby Wesley James will make his appearance. The shower was at my friend Rosann's house. I haven't seen her in a very long time, but she's one of those friends that you just pick up where you left off. I truly love her like a sister. We have a kind of kinship that is indescribable. It was so good to see everyone again and see Rosann and Matt's new house (it's beautiful y'all!!) complete with a 5ft garage door in the back for his lawnmower!!
After we got home the girls went outside to play and I started removing and installing Graisi's new faucet. I really thought Martin would be there to help me out, but I was sadly mistaken. He high-tailed it out of there to the grocery store! Go figure... So I enlisted Graisi's help to hand me wrenches, pliers and screw drivers. She wasn't happy about it but she did it anyway. After a squished hand, a few scratches and many cuss words the faucet was installed. Note: I didn't say it worked. I said it was installed. When I turned the water on there was a small/LARGE leak. It appears that I don't have the strength needed to tighten some of the fittings, so I waited for Martin to come home and fix it :o)
