Saturday, Kerri took Graisi and Mallory to an egg hunt sponsored by a local church at a park near our houses.
Well...on the way to church yesterday morning, from the backseat, Graisi piped up and said, "Yesterday, while we were at the Easter Egg hunt, I prayed the prayer and invited Jesus to come and live in my heart." At which point I started crying!! I knew she had been really close for a while now, but I'd never taken the steps to lead her to her salvation. I could have just kicked myself, but thankfully, there were other Christians who could help with this gift. I just wish we could have been there. After church, she said she prayed the prayer again in her worship service and that there would be someone calling me to talk to me about it. I don't think the church will baptize until the children are in the second grade, but they may let her be baptized in the creek at Shocco Springs at the summer picnic. She has watched others be baptized there and we've talked about it and what it means, so she understands, but I don't know if she'll actually get into the water. We'll see. We are just so proud for her. She was also very excited to know that her daddy accepted Christ at age 7 just like her. She said she felt the Holy Spirit come and live in her heart while she was praying and that she felt like a new person. WOW! What an awesome testimony from a child!!! Congratulations Graisi!! We love you!!!

Out of the mouths of babes... how awesome is this?? She's in His hands now...no matter what she does or where she goes...HE will always look after her Shelli....tell her that Nona and Popa are so very proud of her!! But don't tell her that Nona was baptized after 50 years old...she might not understand:):) Popa was 11 or 12 years old when he was baptized.
Oh, she understands. Her Sunday school teacher didn't become a Christian until she was in college.
I am so proud of Graisi. She is such a special girl with a huge heart. I can't wait to watch her ministry grow.
