We had a great weekend, but when I woke up this morning I couldn't figure out where it went.
I didn't feel like I got any rest the past two days and I know I did somewhere along the way.
Friday night Graisi spent the night with Mallory. I called Kerri at 8:50pm to see if Graisi was going to come home. She asked Graisi and Graisi politely told her she was spending the night with them... that's my Graisi! Saturday was filled with the girls playing all morning and going to a birthday party in the afternoon. Granted, Graisi was not invited, but Kerri called the mom ahead of time to see if Graisi could come. So off they went with Graisi and no gift for the little girl. What made me feel even worse was the fact that Graisi brought something home. And not just any something.... it was a nice little prize. It seems Graisi does have a competitive streak in her after all. They had a relay race at this party and Graisi was the fastest girl... So she didn't take a gift but brought one home. Did I mention how bad I felt??
Sunday we spend the morning in church. My worship has gotten so much better since Buddy pointed out that it's a privilege to be able to worship with others and gather with God on Sunday's instead of it being a chore. I now wake up and thank my God for letting me and my family come to Him and love Him instead of waking up wondering what everyone is going to wear and how to get them out the door on time. It has changed my whole outlook. I've just been taking my love for the Lord for granted because He's always there. But that's why I shouldn't... because He IS always there for me. Not to mention, I've really enjoyed studying about Abraham, Sarah and Lot in Genesis in Sunday School. What wonderful examples they gave us for unquestionable faith.
After church we went to our church wide picnic at Shocco Springs in Talladega County. Normally we have lots of kids and 6-9 couples in our group, but this year we only had three couples and 8 kids. But you can't count Scott and Melody's kids because they accounted for half of them once they got there :o) If you weren't there and you're reading this... I really missed you and hope you'll be there next year!! But none the less, we had a great time. I met some people picnicking right beside us that I'd never met before and we had a good time talking. I got to see people I hadn't seen in a while and got caught up on the goings on in their lives. Martin took Graisi swimming and putt-putt golfing. Scott took Graisi swimming again with his kids and Melody went to relieve him from his duties. Then she came back and said Graisi didn't want to get out and she stayed with some woman named "Jane". She said Jane told her she would take care of Graisi and said she looked like a responsible person... :o) I was sure Graisi would be fine with everyone up there and let her stay for a little while longer. Then we had our annual baptism in the lake and evening worship by the water. There were 12 or so that were baptized this year. Graisi really wanted to be one of them, but opted to be baptized in the church so more of her family could be there. All in all we had a great weekend, I just don't think it lasted as long as usual.
