Our 1st Camp Out

I'm back! I'm finally caught up here at work and you have no idea how excited I am!!!!

Now I can tell you about the wonderful weekend we had a week ago when we went camping with our best friends Ed, Sallie, Jaime, Chad, Wendy and 8 kids! The adults and Alli Claire were miserably hot, but the other 7 young'uns were as happy as piglets in mud. They had the best time tromping through the woods, digging in the mud and catching frogs and minnows. It was great! We got there Friday night (thank you Sallie and Wendy for setting up the tents!) and grabbed dinner on the way. We had a campfire, courtesy of Ed (as if you questioned :o) and a dutch oven apple pie! YUM!! I'd gone by the Dollar Store and picked up several packs of glow-in-the-dark necklace/bracelet/sticks. And it was well worth the money! While the kids were exploring the woods at night, we knew exactly where they were until they ventured over to Frog Island, but we still knew they were ok. Alli Claire didn't go to sleep until around 11:30pm and the birds woke everyone up at 4am. We only camped 10 miles from our house, but I can honesty say, we don't have those birds/animals around our house.... Martin slept with the girls while I had my own 1 man tent :o) He got up around 5 or 5:30 and peeked into my tent and said with a snicker, "I'm waiting for the Chupracabra to come dancing between our tents". I told him I wasn't sure who I wanted to shoot first, myself or the birds. It was sooo loud! I can't wait until next time! I think we're going back in the fall.

I wish you could have heard the kids come running up YELLING about the HUGE fish Riley had caught in his net..... I did have to tell Hunter that the 9 (dead) minnows he was holding in his hand should really be alive if he were going to use them as bait. To which he responded, "Oh...really?" But did you catch the size of that fish??

Graisi is at Aunt Janet's this week and from what I hear, she's going to have a great time!! She was so excited when she left but Alli Claire was not happy to see her Sissy go. I hear Callaway Gardens is in the plans :o) I can't wait to hear about it when she comes home. I did cut her hair before she left and it's up to her chin. It is precious!!! From what I hear, Maggie (her cousin) just had hers cut that short too... I'll post pics of that when I pull them off of the camera :o)

I got another set of the girls outfits finished yesterday afternoon. I'm really kicking myself for not having learned to sew when Graisi was a baby... I could have already had AC a closet full!

So it's just me and AC this week, oh yeah, Martin too. It should make for a very quiet week :o)
