The blind metal detector

Today we took a trip to the Botanical Gardens to have some family pictures and Alli Claire's 2 year old pictures taken. Six years ago when Graisi was 2, we had the same photographer take hers there, so we thought it would be neat to have AC's done there also... in the same dress I might add. (I can't wait to get them back!) Can you say great weather for August and an even better hair day! I'm so proud it behaved. With curly hair, you just never know.... Granted it's crunchy from the Rave hairspray used before leaving the house, but it stayed in place. That's all a girl can ask for on picture day!

Martin snapped the one of the girls as Alli Claire was trying to escape...our usual AC picture.
Graisi took the picture of me and Martin (notice the chopped off head :o) But it's a good one none the less. (The ones Julie took will be much better :o)

(Taken in The Little Ones Memory Garden.
We had to make a stop and visit before leaving.)

In tradition, we let the girls play in the fountains on the way out to the parking lot. As we stood there waiting on them to finish playing, a lady, who was obviously attending one of the two weddings about to start, came walking down one of the cobblestone paths that weave in and out of the gardens. When I looked up I immediately noticed she was blind by the fact she had a cane and was moving it from side to side in front of her. However, on the end of the said cane was a white plastic ball. No doubt it was for keeping the cane from becoming lodged in between the stones or other uneven surfaces. In true Graisi fashion, and in the only tone she has...LOUD, she looked up from playing in the fountains and asked, "Now why does that woman have a metal detector in here?".... Martin said he did all he could to keep from bursting out into laughter. Under my breath and between clinched teeth, all the while looking around to make sure no one else heard her, I said, "She's blind Graisi!". And then came the "Oh...oops" You just never know what they're going to say, do you?
