Alli Claire funny

This morning AC woke up stuffy. So, I told her I was going to put decongestant drops in her nose to help her breathe... and I did. Just a few minutes later, she looked at me and said, "Mommy, I no like "waindwops". Just precious!

On the way to deliver donated items to Childrens Hospital today, she wanted to call someone and tell them where she was going. For a while, she kept saying she was going to the Chill-ren" House. We finally got her to say "hospital". She called her Aunt Janet and told her she was taking "toyeees" to "Chill-ren Hos-pit-tul"

Christmas mornings

Yeah, yeah, yeah... call it a Christmas/holiday sebatical. I've been terrible at keeping my blog up to date, but my New Years Resolution is going to be trying to do better where this is concerned. I promise.

Nothing exciting is going on. Just trying to get ready for Christmas and making sure our lists are checked twice as to not forget anything important. I think we've done well this year considering...

I cannot believe Christmas is like here. Why is it the older you get the faster time passes? And not even passes.... it more of less flies by like a hurricane. Who made that rule and why does it have to happen? I would love for time to pass at the speed of snail again like it did when I was 8 years old. You know when it took forever for Dec 25th to actually arrive. And it took even longer after Santa arrived to be able to open your gifts because Mom and Dad were still in the bed asleep and they had to be up first. Wasn't it fun? Ah, to a kid again...

I guess that's why I love Christmas so much with the girls. It never gets old and there is a renewed since of excitement in the air on Christmas morning. And then breakfast starts being prepared. Complete with bacon, pancakes and eggs. How much better can it get?

Are you ready?? I am!

Graisi Funny

Friday afternoon, the girls and I were driving down the road. I was listing to Sean Hannity and something was said about the Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae fiasco/buy-out. A few seconds passed by and Graisi piped up and said, "Mama, did you know people name their kids Fannie?" I said, "Uh huh" not knowing where this was going... She said, "That's not a name. That's a body part. If my name was Fannie, I'd change it to Melissa." Now, where in the world did Melissa come from???

Happy 8th Birthday Maggie!

Today is my niece Hannah Margaret's 8th birthday (aka Maggie). Janet and I were just talking the other day that it seemed like yesterday I was standing in her room after Maggie was born and Graisi was walking around holding my hand. They were born 10 months apart and have been kindred spirits since they met. They mirror each other perfectly. Graisi is Maggie's loud half and Maggie is Graisi's quiet half. Our family celebrated Maggie's birthday the day after Thanksgiving because she is having a sleepover party this year. Since then, Alli Claire has been singing the Happy Birthday song to Maggie. Last week I "explained" to Alli Claire that Christmas was about Jesus' birth and not about Santa Clause. At which time, she began merrily singing happy birthday to Maggie AND Jesus!

Maggie, I am so glad we were blessed to have you as part of our family. Now, I'm not sure where we stand in that equation :o) Happy Birthday to you today! I'll see you Friday.

I love you!

The good. The bad. And the ugly.

Thanksgiving was good. Food was good. Family was good. Glad it's over so we can start to celebrate Christmas!! YEA!! This is the first year I've had lights on the outside of our house :o) I shopped Target last year when everything was 80-90% off! I got lots of stuff including the big ceramic bulb lights for the tree. I LOVE them! They look great and they make me happy :o)

Today is the first day my baby with wear big girl panties at school... so sad!

That's all I've got today. I'm tired, sick and sleepy. Martin and I toated Nyquil last night before going to bed and Dayquil this morning on the way out. Have a good day.
